No day like a snow day

Despite the local weathermen putting a practically apocalyptic spin on Friday/Saturday's blizzard, all in all it wasn't that disastrous of a weekend around here.

I enjoyed the downtime the snow weekend afforded me--after all, when your only mode of transportation is your own two Hunter-shod feet, suddenly the urge to venture too far from home and run needless errands decreases significantly! Aside from catching up on a ton of work-related tasks, I checked the following off my list:

Patted myself on the back for my decision to to keep my car in the garage at work when I saw Exhibit A:

Rejuvenated some oft-worn sweaters that were pilling thanks to my miraculous sweater shaver. If you don't have one, it's worth every bit of $9.99.

Watched "Funny People", a totally underrated Judd Apatow movie...highly recommend.

Documented the fact that maybe Americans really do have carb dependency- there was not a single loaf of bread, bagel, English muffin, cocktail rye, baguette, pita, or any other bread product left on the shelf at Giant on Saturday.

Trekked 1.1 miles (each way) in the snow...and in the dark...to Cleveland Park Bar & Grill...and was glad I did!

Smiled when I came across messages in the snow, especially this one. Who says romance is dead?

Was glad I didn't have a hankering for Cactus Cantina, 'cause I would have been SOL...

Put together a few necklaces that I'd been meaning to get to for a while.

Tried on my new Trina Turk via TJ Maxx bathing suit to remind myself that spring (or at least spring break) is just around the corner. I've never seen Trina at TJ Maxx before, but they had a whole truckload recently...

Hopefully this week things will get back to normal- the main roads don't look too bad around here, but the side streets are still a mess, and the sidewalks are an adventure unto themselves! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
