Think Pink!

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and since pink is the signature color of breast cancer awareness, we are sharing our favorite pink rooms with you.  It's also worth mentioning that pink walls are very flattering for nearly anyone in the room- they make your skin glow, so we love them especially for a room where you get ready.

This Mary McDonald room is one of our all-time favorites.  From the chinoiserie mirror to the zebra rug and the fun punchy pink walls, it has alot going on but it looks fab and glamorous!

Of course the queen of hearts Betsey Johnson has tremendous amounts of pink in her house!

Check out her bedroom- we love the huge floor lamp.  And the portrait of none other than Miss Betsey herself hanging over the bed.

Betsey's dining room is simple and gorgeous.  It has a fun retro feel, and who would have guessed that Betsey Johnson would use sconces?!

The artichoke chandelier and light furniture really pop against the hot pink walls!

We think alot of guys probably wouldn't like a bedroom like this, but we love how she embraced "girly glam" in a non-obnoxious way.  The mirrored bed and black-and-white accents are perfect!

This bathroom/ dressing room is bigger than alot of apartments.  The colors are so peaceful and stunning, an the pink monogram on the back of the french vanity chair is perfection!

Pink and green is such a great combination.  We aren't crazy about rooms that embrace the super-preppy hot pink and kelly green combo, but with warmer colors like this, it is perfect!

This pink guest room is perhaps a bit more traditional than we would choose, but the various shades of pink really blend well.  It's good to see how everything does not have to match perfectly to still look good together.

If you like bright hot pink, how about this lacquered coffee table and velvet sofa?  Over the top glam!  We do like the simple white walls and white bedding with such dramatic pieces of furniture.

Sometimes a pop of pink is all a room needs.  We love this chaise lounge in Erin Featherston's home featured in Domino.  Pink and zebra seem to be a winning combo!

These chairs are the perfect ballet-slipper pink.  I really would not describe this room as feminine at all- the pink is offset by the thick black-and-white stripes, the hard lines of the other furniture and floor lamps, and the rather masculine wall hangings.

Habitually Chic

Hot pink entryways are so dramatic!  The contrast with the white wainscotting, blue ginger jar, and black-and-gray wavy chair are really make this entryway stand out.

We love how these pink upholstered Louis chairs stand out against the monochromatic white walls and the neutral flooring.

Soft pink and gray and create such a stunning color palette in this sitting room.  We like just the hint of pink on the walls.

Once again, a hint of pink on the walls makes a room so warm and inviting.  We would love to stay in this guest room!

House to Home

If you prefer a deeper pink, these grasscloth walls are sophisticated and eye-catching, in an unobtrusive way.

French model Ines de la Fressange's living room in Elle Decor is so chic and glamorous (just like she is!).  We like how the shadows play on the walls, and all the gold leaf and lacquery black in the room.

What a perfect powder room.  The Venetian glass mirror is stunning, especially when paired with a mirrored vanity.  You have to do this "just right" to pull it off, and Kendall Wilkinson certainly has succeeded here!

I wouldn't normally think of Martha Stewart as a "pink" person, but her home in Maine has walls in the subltest of hues!  Pink just makes the room warm and cozy.

Pink and brown work fabulously together.  We love the sunburst mirror over the fireplace, as well as the casual seagrass rugs in such a sophisticated room.

Windsor Smith's home in a recent House Beautiful is one of our favorite features.  The bubblegum pink of these walls may not be for everyone, but Windsor knows how to make it work beautifully with the other pieces in her room.
