My sister emailed me this bag the other day and asked me who I thought made it. I first guessed Tods (wrong!), then Nancy Gonzales (wrong!), then Michael Kors (nope). Imagine my surprise to find out the bag is.... wait for it......
TALBOTS. I'm not kidding. You can buy it here for $250. Not bad!
I then proceeded to peruse the Talbots website, and I was surprised to find some cute things.
Like this animal cardigan for $89. Perfect with a pencil skirt for work or with jeans on a Saturday.
Or this short navy trench for $145. It's fitted and adorable and a great weight for spring!
This light blue sweater for $50 looks great over a crisp oxford shirt. The bateau neck is so chic!
Talbots does the boyfriend cardigan for $50! It comes in so many great colors, but this kelly green is our favorite for spring!
We will admit we aren't crazy about the three-pocket jacket idea... But we do find the combo of white jeans, a tweed jacket, scarfy belt, ruffled blouse, and leather clutch to be quite inspiring!
A plaid trench, wide belt, skinny black pants, and slingbacks? Just what you need for this time of year, in that "in between" season.
Mock croc shoes can be all kinds of wrong, but on this chunky stacked heel, these sandals will go the distance for you this spring!
And this patent clutch is just adorable! It also comes in python-embossed leather. We love a good daytime clutch!
So are we getting older, or is Talbots getting cuter? Or is it a bit of both...
We would like to add a little footnote to this post to say that we probably wouldn't advocate head-to-toe Talbots for anyone our age. But when you pair a Talbot's belted trench with some skinny black pants (we love these from Ann Taylor Loft) or a Talbot's sweater with this cute little polka dotted skirt, you can really create a classic yet youthful look that works!
