A Grand Entrance

As our first post, we thought it only fitting to welcome you to MOS with some amazing entryways. The entryway is the first room guests see in your home, so what better way to welcome them into your home than with a dramatic entryway? A lovely foyer sets the tone for the rest of your home, so don't overlook this important space! Regardless of whether you have a sweeping staircase, a gilded mirror, or custom-painted walls, we think that everyone can glean a little something from these fabulous interiors. And who wouldn't love walking into her home and being greeted by these interiors every day?

The dramatic pink walls and the contrast of gold leaf over rustic tree branches make this foyer one of our favorites. The Well Appointed House

A pair of foo dogs, muted chinoserie wallpaper, the orchid, and the gold bamboo mirror implement eastern elements without seeming contrived.

If you have the space, a large skirted table in the center of your entry provides a polished and welcoming look. The seagrass rug and brown-and-white trellis wallpaper keep the room from feeling stuffy. House Beautiful

This foyer just makes us happy! The combination of the pink floral wallpaper, the velvet settee with bamboo detailing, and the chinese lantern in place of a formal chandelier make this space young and fresh. House Beautiful

The combination of black and white floors with yellow striped walls is not conventional, but it really works in this grand entrance! House Beautiful

Perfect for a small space! Love the wallpaper, white lacquer bamboo chest, Jonathan Adler birds, and the tall lamp to make the ceiling seem taller than it is.

Rich chocolate brown and bright taffy pink make the entryway of Ned Marshall's New Orleans home a treat for the eyes! We also love the gold sunburst mirror and the dramatic high ceilings. House Beautiful
