Birthday wishes

Yesterday I mentioned that we had a lovely lunch out in Stellenbosch on the weekend, it was an early celebration for my friend's birthday which is actually today! So I'm wishing you a fabulous day Bron, hope it's as fun as Saturday was and that the year ahead is just awesome! And for all my Capetonian readers who haven't yet visited Tokara wine estate, put it on your list, it's just beautiful...

Stellenbosch day trip

Yesterday I took a day trip out to Stellenbosch with two friends and we had the best time exploring this beautiful, historic town. There are so many amazing little coffee shops, gift shops and restaurants, we had a tough time deciding where to go. After a day of walking the town flat and taking pics we were exhausted! I've decided to start a new series where I feature the 5 best places of a particular area and I'll be starting off with Stellenbosch, so stay tuned for more pics and reviews of my favourite places! Tokara Delicatessen

Just a few photos from my recent visit to Tokara's Delicatessen, it's the perfect place for a day trip. Just outside Stellenbosch, with beautiful views and tasty food, it's country style at it's best. Definitely worth a visit, make a note of it now! Stellenbosch day trip

I had such an amazing day in Stellenbosch on Saurday with my friends. Stellenbosch is about forty minutes from Cape Town, a beautiful old town in the heart of the winelands. We explored the town on foot, stopping for coffee and then lunch and lots of browsing in between. It felt like we were tourists in a little overseas town, such fun! Some highlights were De Oude Bank Bakerij, Nook Eatery, Tokara, Spier and Delaire, yes, we had a busy day! More pics of Tokara to come, thought I better not overdo it today!

Moyo at Spier

Last Saturday evening we treated ourselves to a dinner at Moyo, the fabulous outdoor restaurant at the Spier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. You can choose to dine under ancient oaks, in stylish Moroccan style tents or up in the tree tops. It's an absolutely magical setting and a unique dining experience. Live African music, a buffet of note and attentive service all add to the experience. We were lucky enough to have a table high up in the trees and it was one of those perfectly warm summer evenings. I would highly recommend going hungry to make the most of the buffet and definitely book a tree top table!
