Louis Vuitton Labels Collection

One of the reasons that I fell In LVoe with Louis Vuitton is the rich history behind the company. I LVoe things that have a story particularly from the past. Apparently, these lables were collected by Louis' grandson, Gaston-Louis. So, is it any wonder then that the Labels Collection would catch my undivided LVoe and attention? Comprised mostly of affordable little knick knacks, they are embellished with old world images of luggage stickers. I know that these tend to clutter one's bag, but surely such delightful pieces are well worth it. Louis Vuitton Lunar Mahina

I have always LVoed the perforated leather ever since I got my Onatah. So when I saw the Lunar Mahina in Sak's Catalogue, I was esctatic. Crafted out of the same leather, LV chose "Lunar" to be this line's name to tie in with the previous Polynesian Moon Deities, Mahina and Surya. I guess it is also serves as an homage since this year marks Man's first lunar landing as celebrated with the latest Core Values ad with Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell and Sally Ride. There are two sizes to chose from with a price tag of $2580 for the GM and $2260 for the PM. Colors are in chocolate, mahogany, cognac and acajou (pic above). Louis Vuitton Blurry Stole

I am currently so engrossed with the scarves and stoles that Vuitton is releasing this season. I actually remember seeing the Blurry Stole from my last visit in New York City. Crafted out of special yarns that lends a glistening effect to the textile, the flowers have been "blurred" out to enhance the visual experience. $1140 at www.louisvuitton.com.

Louis Vuitton Carrés: Flocon Square

Catching the Scandinavian wind from fresh mess, the Flocon silk twill square exudes timeless elegance. With motifs that are sprinkled with the LV logo and miniature Eiffel towers, this current wintry collection is much to my liking. Louis Vuitton Monogram Eclipse Silk Scarf

I actually saw this at the boutique in Saks Fifth Avenue and almost bought it as my homage to the Monogram Eclipse Collection. The tromp l'oeil effect of the sequins is riveting but the color combinations of gold, black and red made me shy away from it. The dimensions of 28" square (roughly 70cm) are in the style of "vintage" scarves which I'm not too wild about. Now, if it were to grace my mantelpiece for Christmas, that's another consideration. I am still mulling over this one.

Louis Vuitton Charms Aquarelle Collection

I was browsing through the website when I found the Charms Aquarelle Collection in the Fancy Jewelry tab. Made out of ceramic with painted gold brass, these petite fashion accessories are simply divine. I LVoe how the ceramic has craqueleur in its glaze. Unfortunately, at least on the US website, the collection only comprises of hoop earrings (which are really asymmetrical) and a hair accessory. I wish they made bag charms with these small works of art. The heart has the Sprouse Graffiti painted on it, by the way. Priced at $375 for the hoops and $280 for the hair ties. Louis Vuitton Maille Flocon Cap

I know it's still the middle of Summer, but I can't help but browse LV's Seasonal Accesories. Featured here is their Maille Flocon Cap. Inspired by patterns from Scandinavia, the winter hat is peppered with icon motifs, stars and snowflakes. But what makes this truly special are the tiny Eiffel Towers interspersed within the design but for the life of me, I can't really see them. Maybe in real life so I better keep an eye out on this one.

Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram

A lot of people have e-mailed me inquiring about the 17 color combos of Louis Vuitton's Mon Monogram service. Thankfully, NicoleLV has provided us with a snap shot of the color chart that some stores use. Click pic to enlarge.




I know, it's kinda archaic but they also have a swatch sampler that you can flip through. Here's Juana Manahan at Louis Vuitton, Manila perusing the said sampler. Photo from stylebible.ph. Lastly, software developed for Louis Vuitton is used to capture a visual simulation of what your future Mon Monogram would LVook like. This is the final step wherein a print out of your order would come from. I would suggest that you decide on a color scheme before heading down to one of a hundred Flagship Stores worldwide that offer this service. With all the combinations of colors, placement, fonts, two initials or three, it can get a tad bit overwhelming. My head ached by the time I walked out of the 5th Avenue store. Also, I was irritated that a few months after, the counterfeiters decided that my Mon Monogram was a limited edition piece and decided to make copies. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Louis Vuitton Rock Flower Charm

In my quest to look for a cell phone charm replacement last week (which I don't need now since I found my old one), I began to see bag charms in a different light. I wondered too why I don't have one in my collection. My last feature was the Insolence Charm in early May which I am still mulling over. But my manager showed me an interesting one that is called the Rock Flower Charm . Made of perforated resin and antiqued brass, it reinterprets the monogram flower into an industrial piece that is both charming and fashionable. It costs as much as a small LV wallet ($405) but it is a huge piece that would surely attract attention and admiration. Visit www.louisvuitton.com.

Louis Vuitton Martelé Collection

It was a weekend of visiting all four Louis Vuitton boutiques! Susanne is living now in Las Vegas and was hoping to buy a new purse here in DC. Sadly, she chose another brand but she promised me that she would consider the Monogram Totally for her next bag purchase. In any case, there weren't a lot that was out. June 1st is the start of the big releases: Pre-Fall and Fall Collection , with the Runway Bags coming out towards the end of summer.
There is one collection that captured my fancy as we visited all these stores and that is, the Martelé Collection from the Fancy Jewelry Line. They are hammered brass accesories that is composed of a ring, bracelet and the piece de resistance, a necklace that has a Stephen Sprouse silk scarf. They remind me so much of my Spring Summer 2007 Panama Bowly that has the hammered gold hardware (S-lock, rivets and feet). I only saw the necklace and I am hoping to see the ring in the not so distant future. Priced at $280 ring, $725 bracelet, $1000 necklace. What do you guys think? Visit www.louisvuitton.com.

First LVook: Zipped Passport Holder

I have been using my Glace wallet for the longest time as my passport holder because I was not so impressed by the canvas offerings of LV. But seeing this Zipped Holder has made me consider getting one. Tooted as an organizer in itself, it contains 4 credit card slots and a pen holder. It also has a flap that could hold boarding passes or receipts. May 15 Launch of Monogram Totally

I know a lot of people were disappointed with the new Totally when it was first released in Damier Azur. The lining was not impressive and it downright looked like a diaper bag. But for some reason,
the Totally has a acquired a chic LVook to it with the Monogram Canvas. Available exclusively through www.louisvuitton.com for now, it comes in GM, MM and PM sizes for $1100, $1000 and $870, respectively. Store release is slated for June 1. It may just very well be the next entry level Vuitton piece.
