Fresh start

Welcome to another week and the end of November! Are you ready for the December craziness that's about to begin? I think this week is much needed to get organised and prepared to avoid the usual rush to get things done last minute! What have you all got planned for the end of year and the holidays? And how was your Thanksgiving?! I came across some sunflowers on the weekend, always so pretty and happy, so I've put together some yellow, turquoise and floral inspiration for you today, enjoy!

Luella lovelies

I'm sure most of my local readers will know and love Luella stores, they are the perfect place to shop for gorgeous shoes and stylish bags. Luella has just launched their new website and blog which will be updated regularly with their latest collections and fashion snippets. It's a great resource to keep up with the latest trends and the ideal solution when trying to hunt for that 'perfect' pair of shoes to complete an outfit!

And more exciting news, if you buy the October issue of ELLE magazine, you'll get a voucher for 30% off from Luella! I've put together a fun floral 'Get the look' featuring some of my fave shoe and bag picks from Luella, mmm perhaps I'll use my voucher for one of these...

Thanking you!

Today's post is a bit of a mixed bag, a bit of Spring inspiration and a few thank yous! Firstly I want to thank all of you lovely readers and bloggers who have voted for me in the SA Blog Awards. It's been amazing to get emails and comments from you, wishing me luck and saying you've voted for me. Your support has blown me away, thank you so much! The voting is open until the 17th of September so we have to wait until then to see who all the winners will be, so exciting! You can also vote every 24 hours which is a bit crazy, so if you're bored you know what to do!

A second thank you goes to the lovely Vicki who invited me to take part in her, "A Day in the Life" series, so pop over if you want to see what a typical day in my life is like! Each week Vicki features a blogger or creative and gives us a glimpse into what their life is like, it's such a fab series! Vicki is also a finalist, in the best design category for the SA Blog Awards, holding thumbs for you, Vicki!

And lastly to the sweet Diane of a spot of whimsy who passed on the Versatile Blogger award on to me, thank you! Now for some sweet florals and Spring whimsy...

Lastly here's something for my Durban readers...
The Thrift Collection is a new fashion source that will be at the I Heart Market from September onwards. This is what Pippa and Meg have to say,
"We’re in the business of scouring vintage and 2nd hand stores for pre-loved items that we lovingly repair, clean and re-button in the hopes of finding them new homes (in a way, we’re kind of like the Fashion SPCA).  All of our items are priced between R10 and R40 (if it’s a little more expensive than that, you know you’re getting something truly special)."
Sounds awesome doesn't it? Wish I lived in Durban!

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend full of sunshine, happiness and inspiration!
p.s. There's still time to enter my Henry Road giveaway!

Floral power

Come rain or shine, I'll choose flowers every time. Loving this photo by Philip Newton and of course these flower arrangements by Saipua are just beautiful. I also love this quote by John Muir...
"I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in." Have a beautiful Saturday.

Josef Frank fabric designs

Loving these bold botanical designs by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn. I would love to have a few of these cushions, sure to liven up any space! Even just two of them on a beautiful white bed would look lovely. What do you think? Too colourful and crazy? Ah, perfect for me!

Nicolette Camille: floral designer

Continuing in the floral theme of the week, today I thought I'd share the gorgeous home of floral designer, Nicolette Owen of Nicolette Camille and some of her floral arrangements too ( Her middle name is Camille in case you're getting confused!).  I love that her home is so organic, flowers and plants everywhere, you can definitely tell that a plant lover lives here! All the interesting vintage pieces add to a lovely rustic and quite eclectic feel. You can see more of her home over on was featured on design*sponge.

Swedish florals

I've been seeing this particular botanical inspired print in various homes and interiors and absolutely loving it but had no idea where it came from. Luckily I spotted this amazing sofa by Kim Klelund in the  latest Livingetc and finally managed to track down where it came from! Of course, as many great designs, it comes from Sweden and is a hand printed fabric by Jobs Handtryck.

The fabric is called Rabarber which means rhubarb and comes in two beautiful colourways. I love the slightly retro feel of the design and the bright colours. The sofa in this fabric is just incredible, I wish it were mine! These are some of the other fabrics by Jobs that are just as appealing...

Monday florals

Well, after a lovely sunny weekend here, it almost feels as though it may be Summer, wishful thinking huh?! I went for a long walk on the beach yesterday which was probably the highlight of my weekend, it was so peaceful and calming. Hope you all had a great weekend, are you ready for the week ahead?

Lately I've been spotting the most gorgeous florals out and about and since I am a bit of a floral girl at heart, I thought I'd dedicate this week to sharing them with you. But before that, I need to announce the winners of the Genevieve Motley jewellery giveaway...
I picked the winners using random.org and I'm happy to tell you that they are the lovely Piper from one sydney road and Krista from Rambling Tart! Congrats ladies!! And a big thank you to Genevieve too!

And now for the florals, loving these Paul Smith designs and the most gorgeous storyboard from 100 Layer Cake...

Pops of floral

Morning friends! Ah it's so nice to have a holiday mid-week, isn't it? And now the weekend is upon us, what could be better? I'm aiming to do some DIY projects this weekend and perhaps even a bit of dying after being inspired by the feature in Sweet Paul's Summer magazine. Paul dyed a variety of items in shades of pinks and yellow, using all natural foodstuffs! He is a genius!

I'm really feeling the need to do a bit of a spring clean and shake out some of that winter gloom from my little office and home. Hope the feeling lasts till tomorrow when I'll actually have the time to do this! I also spotted Lisa Rupp's new floral dish towels this week, aren't they stunning? Last thing, Capetoninan bloggers, have you heard about the Blogger Get Together? Looking forward to meeting all of you and catching up in person. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Floral beauties

Well it's a belated Monday post today since blogger has been playing up all day and I haven't been able to post anything until now. Talk about a blogger's worst nightmare?! Have any of you had the same problems today? Let's hope it's all sorted out now.

Anyway more importantly, have you heard about BHLDN? It's a great resource for the bride to be offering inspiration plus an online shop selling gowns, jewellery, hair accessories and now all sorts of decor too... from tabletop pieces to lighting, stationery and keepsakes. Plus you can create your own moodboards using a combination of your own images and the ones from BHLDN. These are some of my faves from BHLDN, aren't they just incredible?

Pretty in pink

Yay, I'm super happy its Friday, it's been one of those long weeks and I'm excited to get going with the weekend! Since it's my birthday on Monday, I'm inviting friends over on Sunday for an afternoon of bubbly, cupcakes and snacks! But have I started organising yet? No! So I can see tomorrow is going to be a mad rush of tidying up and rearranging the house and of course baking up a storm! I'm looking forward to all of it anyway!

I've got some pretty pink and floral inspirations for you today... a romantic and rather bohemian living room, adorable little wrist tattoos, gorgeous free April desktop wallpaper from pretty light and the most incredible peony paper collage by Nathalie Boutté. It's so beautiful, wish I was that creative!

So what are your plans for the weekend my friends? Local readers, make sure you enter my B+D sunglasses giveaway and Sootcookie ceramic giveaway! Why not, it's free and someone has to win! Have a great weekend my friends!♡
