Retro loving

Just love the retro feel to this apartment, almost each and every piece tells a tale. This is Marcus Hay, the New York super stylist's, previous apartment. Marcus definitely has an eye for collector's pieces and isn't afraid of colour! My favourite piece is the botanical print hanging above the sofa.

Glam it up

The weekend is almost here and I can almost hear a sigh of relief from all around, I know how busy everyone is at the moment! So I'm wishing you all a lovely, relaxing, indulgent weekend... I could quite happily cocoon myself in a gorgeous, glamorous space something like below and just take some time out! Don't you agree? Oh and if I could have this incredible dress as well while we're at it, I'd be very happy! Have a good one, friends!

Rue faves

By now I'm sure you've all had a look at Rue's fabulous second issue, if you haven't... do so now! It's jam packed with so many beautiful interiors, great articles and gift ideas! They featured the home of Jessica Zinke which I absolutely love. It's fresh and fun with lovely bright splashes of colour and interesting fabric choices. And isn't her work space great?

Another gorgeous home featured, totally different to the first, belongs to Windsor Smith. It's more grown up and glamorous with more calm tones in blues and silvers. I love all the deep buttoned detailing. So which home appeals to you? Which space would you feel at home in? I think I'll go with the first though!

Bright, happy interiors

I'm sure you know by now that I love a little bit of bright colour, it adds a sense of fun, vibrancy and warmth to wherever it's needed. All of the interiors below have striking bold colours and some sort of paint effects in them, all photographed by the talented Magnus Anesund. I'd love to assist him for a day and get sneak peaks into these gorgeous interiors!

Absolutely love this first bedroom, the colours are stunning and contrast beautifully against the pale wooden walls. The rainbow coloured kitchen cupboards in the second photo are such fun, I don't think I'd want something like this in my kitchen but it would be great in a studio or kid's room. What do you think? Loving all this colour or not?!

Bold, stylish & colourful mix

Happy Friday friends! I'm back from my trip and feel totally recharged which is a good thing considering I now have to tackle my inbox! I thought I wouldn't bore you with more holiday snaps (last batch tomorrow!) and would rather feature this fantastic, colourful home that I spotted over on ELLE Decor España. To start with, I absolutely love the oversized photo of the cathedral and then of course all the fun, eclectic cushions and designer pieces. This home has a wonderful, bold character which is so inviting. I could quite happily live in this space! Have a great weekend!

Spring touch

An easy way to achieve a fresh spring look is to gather an assortment of interesting vases and bottles and place a single flower stem in each. Of course the flowers you decide to use will determine the whole look. I just love the collection below, so delicate and pretty, don't you agree?! Do you have any exciting plans for your weekend? I want to go and check out the Hout Bay harbour market and that's about it! I'll leave you with some beautiful images all styled by Sara Sjögren, pop over here to see more of her work, enjoy!

Understated elegance

I came across this incredible home yesterday and had to feature it. I simply love the neutral palette with plenty of whites, dove greys and natural wood elements. This home has a wonderful feel to it... understated elegance and quite relaxed at the same time with just the right amount of French style. Of course the living area with that double volume space and almost endless stretch of windows is what makes it for me, so gorgeous! You can read more about the home here.

Moroccan beauty

One place that is high on my travel wish list is Morocco. The colour, culture, architecture, decor and exotic elements all appeal to me. And of course the intricate tiling and textiles too. One day, I'll get there, in the meanwhile my inspiration folder is growing with Moroccan inspired tear sheets and cut outs! Have any of you travelled to Morocco? What are your experiences, I'd love to know.

Country style

So I spent such a perfect weekend enjoying things out in the countryside, first a trip to Elgin on Friday and then yesterday we went to a magical wine farm in the Hemel & Aarde Valley. I'll share photos with you soon, I promise. So speaking of country style, how do you interpret this look? For me, it needs to be relaxed and simple and quite rustic. Natural colours and tones with a few florals for colour and lots of raw wood. Preferably with wooden floors, a huge fireplace for winter and a patio looking out onto a veggie and herb garden. Sounds good doesn't it?

Greek simplicity

I came across this beautiful all white Mykonos villa over on Marie Claire Maison and was instantly drawn to it's simplicity and ease. Of course the huge outdoor area, pool and magnificent view only add to its splendour. I don't think I could permanently live in such a white space but for a holiday this is absolute perfection!

Home office inspiration

Morning friends, did you have a good weekend? I had a great time camping and being in nature but now it's back to work and this week I need to focus on my work space at home. It's currently in a total state! Desk piled with books and folders of 'Things to do' and swamped with clutter! I really need to get some proper storage and filing going. I thought I'd pick out some inspiring images to help get me going and to give you some ideas too. Hope you all have a productive week ahead!
