Nautical flavour

After a lovely weekend of fresh sea air and sunshine I'm feeling rested and relaxed and somewhat inspired by the nautical life! I've put together another 'Get the look' for you, featuring more Luella lovelies and plenty of nautical inspiration. All the shoes and bags featured here are from Luella, specially for all my local readers.

There's something so calming about being at the sea and bringing this element into your home or wardrobe can bring the same feeling and memories. Choose blues and whites, stripes or actual seaside finds...

Luella lovelies

I'm sure most of my local readers will know and love Luella stores, they are the perfect place to shop for gorgeous shoes and stylish bags. Luella has just launched their new website and blog which will be updated regularly with their latest collections and fashion snippets. It's a great resource to keep up with the latest trends and the ideal solution when trying to hunt for that 'perfect' pair of shoes to complete an outfit!

And more exciting news, if you buy the October issue of ELLE magazine, you'll get a voucher for 30% off from Luella! I've put together a fun floral 'Get the look' featuring some of my fave shoe and bag picks from Luella, mmm perhaps I'll use my voucher for one of these...

Mint & rose

I discovered a gorgeous new food photography blog yesterday thanks to Tabitha Emma. Call Me Cupcake is a Swedish blog full of incredible recipes and beautifully styled photos. The photo below of Linda's macaroons got me dreaming up a whole mint and rose affair, so very pretty.

Simply chic

Hello friends! Aren't you happy it's Friday? I definitely am even though I still have loads of work to do before I can relax. I'm taking next week off work so I have a lot of things to get done before then. I'm so looking forward to having a bit of a break and doing some exploring and photo taking. I'll still be blogging though as I can't stay away from all of you! I also have a great new giveaway that will be up on Monday.

Today's post is a short one, inspired by Nicole of Gary Pepper Vintage. She is one talented girl! Nicole has a gorgeous blog and an online boutique specialising in exquisite vintage pieces. The photos below are of her in some of her vintage clothing, sigh, it makes me want to disappear right back to the countryside! I can't remember when I last saw a maxi skirt looking so pretty. Her look is just so simple and yet perfectly elegant...

Country loving

I came across a gorgeous wedding shoot over at green Wedding shoes and couldn't help but want to share it with you. Sigh... it makes me dream of a trip into the countryside complete with leisurely bicycle rides, lazy lunches and plenty of fresh flowers, friends and fun. Don't you agree, wouldn't you love to be somewhere like this today? Well, just one more day until the weekend and then hopefully some of that can be possible! Do you have any exciting plans? So far I've planned a lunch for Saturday and a walk up Lions Head with friends on Sunday. Let's hope the rain stays away!

And lastly, in keeping with sunny days out in the countryside, I thought we might need a pretty outfit to wear, I'd love something like this...

Country Girl

Understated elegance

Absolutely loving this girl's look via The Sartorialist. Casual, understated elegance... perfect for work, lunch with friends, shopping, just about anything. Taken on the streets in Paris, not surprising somehow!

And be sure to check out the great post Amber put together over on Mr Price's blog- In the loop. A few local bloggers, including myself, were asked to contribute and choose three things that make our hearts sing. Let me know what you think of my picks!

Tees are in!

Have you noticed that just plain casual tees are making the fashion rounds at the moment? Quite a fun and simple look to work, especially as you probably own one already. Find one loose fitting tee, preferably with open neck, tuck in and off you go! I absolutely love this first look, it's so casual yet stylish at the same time, she exudes that effortless natural chic!

Happy Friday!

I think I probably say this every Friday but I am so happy the weekend is here! It's been a busy week what with my birthday, a hen party and a big family dinner! Phew. This weekend is going to be just as busy, it's my youngest sister's birthday tomorrow and we have a wedding to go to! So tonight is going to be a super early one to prepare myself! What are your plans?

Leslie of a Creative Mint and Ez of Creature comforts of two of my favourite bloggers. They are both incredibly creative and exceptionally good at styling, layout and photography! They both seemed to have used a delicious coral and aqua palette recently and their photos just worked so perfectly together, I had to share! It's such a great colour combination, I was even inspired to come up with an outfit to match. I'm wishing that beautiful flower arrangement was sitting on my desk here at work along with a plate of those cupcakes! Don't you agree?! Happy Friday friends!
