I think this J Crew vintage ivory lace gown is simply too pretty for words. With ruffled tiers and dainty fabric-covered buttons it would make a delicious choice for your special day. New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Monique Lhuillier

Opting for a more subdued palette with injections of spearmint green and burnt orange, Monique Lhuillier showed a collection that really epitomises her label - classic, feminie and simple. A super pretty aray of short hemmed dresses added a perfect amount of flirtiness to the collection with splashes of floral patterned fabrics hinting that spring is well and truly on its way. 50's style cinched waists, ruffles and lace embellishments added to the appeal although I would have loved to have seen a couple of longer alternatives. New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Carolina Herrera

New York Fashion Week is always a colourful affair especially where spring and summer are concerned. American's aren't affraid to use colour and it certainly showed as the spring/summer collections were bursting with vibrant, adventurous but easily wearable shades. I've always loved bright orange and pink as a colour combination and Carolina Herrera opted to have these two hues as the base to her new collection. Amazing! She always manages to make evening wear look so effortless. Sneak Peek #2

The fashion shoot in our upcoming issue, out tomorrow, is really something special. Titled White Hot, it showcases some of the most beautiful gowns available to brides in Australia. The opening spread features the stunning Amsale Ella silk-faced, satin, strapless gown available exclusively at Angela Wilson. And I just adore the Guipure lace and English silk tulle gown from Steven Khalil - absolutely beautiful.





Of course, our fabulous photographs were shot by Claudio Raschella who always puts his heart and soul into each shoot. I'm sure you can tell just looking at his work.

Duff's Day

I'm officially a sucker for celebrity weddings. Considering there are so many at the moment I'm definitely getting my fix. A wedding that's been high on my 'to see' list was that of Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie. They wed on August 15 in front of 100 family and friends at a private 1920's estate in Santa Barbara. Hilary chose a custom designed Vera Wang gown, Christian Louboutin heels and borrowed jewels from Van Cleef & Arpels. Wedding planner extrodinaire Mandy Weiss created a homage to the couples Southern roots with an organic touch kept simple in soft colours. Shoe In

I've spent the last couple of days in Sydney meeting with some of our fabulous suppliers and hunting for the newest and most gorgeous bits and pieces. I made a stop at Joanne Panzarino's simply gorgeous salon in Balmain and was blown away. Her salon is simply gorgeous. Soft colours, beveled edge mirrors, cabinets, tables and of course racks of breathtaking gowns. Joanne is most certainly a lady with fabulous taste! One thing I did notice during my visit was her lovely collection of shoes. There's something so beautiful about a Collette Dinnigan gown. The fabrics are exquisite, the detailing is beyond detailed the cut and fit of the gowns are perfect. Everytime one of her gowns arrives here at the Style Guide studio we ooohhh and aaahhh like a pack of over zealous teenagers. Her new collection, which should be hitting the shelves early September, is true Dinnigan style. Super pretty, romantic and modern all at the same time. Real Wedding - Deb James & Michael Matarazzo

On South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, Deb & Michael married on 29th January 2011 at the picturesque Waverley Estate in the beachside town of Port Elliot. In front of 125 guests they exchanged their vows on a warm, sunny afternoon. There's no denying that the fabulous photography by the very talented Pete Thornton from Event Imaging has perfectly captured the relaxed, happy and love-filled day. The gorgeous bride, in a magical cotton and silk blend Akira gown, was the definition of a glowing, thanks in-part to the makeup artist from Ocea Beauty Bar. There's no denying the love between Deb & Michael shines through in these photographs. We loved the colourful and casual flowers, the brides dress and the polaroid photo's taken by guests for the Bride & Groom as keepsakes.
